As announced way back in 2023, many players have been highly anticipating the release of news regarding the special collaboration update patch between Punishing Gray Raven and the Devil May Cry franchise, specifically Devil May Cry V, together with the implementation of its various powerful characters into the world of Punishing Gray Raven.
With the release of the special announcement live stream regarding the collaboration version update patch, players were able to receive various new information regarding how this collaboration update patch will work and what to expect from the update patch.
Punishing Gray Raven x Devil May Cry V Collaboration Update Patch Release Schedule
With the announcements from the official livestream for the game, players can expect the special Punishing Gray Raven x Devil may Cry Collaboration Update Patch update to be live on the 22nd of May, 2025 for the CN server of the game. During this time, the update patch will last for a total of 7 weeks, with various events and brand new campaigns for players to enjoy and obtain rewards from.

Punishing Gray Raven x Devil May Cry V Collaboration - Brand New Playable Characters
Of course, with the release of the collaboration update patch between Punishing Gray Raven and Devil May Cry V, the main attraction that players can most look forward to is the introduction of the 2 brand new playable characters in this collaboration - the S Rank Character Dantes and The S Rank Character Vergil.
Dantes will be the first playable Devil May Cry character in Punishing Gray Raven with his skill kit heavily taken from his playable skill kit from the Devil May Cry series, kitted out with all powerful and big swings and the implementation of his powerful motorcycle within his combo. He can also enter his Sin Devil Trigger mode after a certain period of time, allowing him to take on his demonic form and deal even more powerful attacks against the enemies.
Vergil will be the other playable character coming to the Devil May Cry collaboration, carrying his powerful katana and of course, his extremely agile and quick attacking move sets. Similar to Dantes, Vergil’s skill kit will be taken inspiration from his skill kit from the Devil May Cry V game, allowing him to deal quick slashes to the enemies, stun locking them all the while he does his many powerful blade combos in succession. Vergil will also get access to his Sin Devil trigger mode, which will also massively enhance his damage dealt and change up his moveset on the battlefield greatly.

Punishing Gray Raven x Devil May Cry V Collaboration Limited Banner Details
During the patch’s period, when players complete the special Collaboration Event Story, all players will be able to receive a Free copy of the S Rank Character Dantes For Free, while both Vergil and Dantes will have their own special Collaboration banners during the patch period.
Unlike the usual S Rank Construct Rate Up banner, the Devil May Cry Collaboration Limited Banner will have different rules and different pity to other banners.
Firstly, unlike the usual banners which require 250 banner tickets in order to do 1 pull on a banner, the collaboration banner will only cost 175 tickets per pull, lowering the amount of tickets players need to spend in order to obtain the Collaboration Character. However, please note that once you have exchanged your currency for the limited collaboration banner tickets, you will not be able to use those tickets once the collaboration banners ends.
Additionally, the pity for each of the collaborations for Dantes and Vergil will be set at the usual 60 pity for each guaranteed S Rank copies of the character. However, the pity will not be shared among the two banners and will not be carried over to future collaboration banners.
Punishing Gray Raven x Devil May Cry V Collaboration Special Roll 1 Get 1 Free Campaign
To encourage players on getting Dantes and Vergil and to lessen the burden, a special roll 1 get 1 free campaign will be held during the campaign period, where if players were to roll 1 copy of a collaboration character, they will get an extra copy of that character for free (up to 2 times per collaboration character).
This means that if you roll for Vergil on his banner and get 1 copy of him, you will get an extra copy of Vergil for free without any cost. This applies to up to 2 free copies per collaboration character, meaning you can get 2 free copies of Vergil when rolling on the Vergil banner and get 2 copies of him from there.
This also applies to the Dantes Collaboration banner, where you can get 2 free extra copies of Dantes upon rolling 2 copies of Dantes from his limited collaboration banner.
Punishing Gray Raven x Devil May Cry V Collaboration Banner - Should You Roll
In terms of the limited availability of the special collaboration banner characters, players should absolutely save their rolls and roll at least 1 copy of each Devil May Cry collaboration character for collection purpose, as it is highly likely that it will take forever for these characters to be available again in the game’s future due to their limited status.
In terms of gameplay and meta, Dantes is a S Rank Attacker Construct of the Fire Element while Vergil is a S Rank Attacker Construct that deals Physical damage. Both of these roles are currently being occupied by various powerful Attacker constructs that are the pillar of each different elemental team like Lucia:Pyroath for fire and Selena: Pianissimo for physical.
Therefore, players can consider getting Dantes and Vergil as temporary sub-in for these characters if you don’t have them for your different elemental teams or replace them if you have Vergil and Dantes at high evolution level. Otherwise, obtaining both Devil May Cry Collaboration characters in Punishing Gray Raven as keepsake is of utmost priority and players should at least get 1 copy of each character.
